xmas kittiesThere are many ways to donate.  There are many ways to help:

  • Adopt. from HAL or your local shelter or rescue organization. Avoid pet stores that sell puppies that are not associated with Rescue/Shelters organizatons.
  • Money. We accept Paypal, checks and/or cash.
  • Money.   In memory of or in honor of a beloved pet or person
  • Money. Become a corporate sponsor.
  • Time. Volunteer to foster.
  • Time. Volunteer to use your business skills to develop and implement a marketing plan to promote HAL, develop a quarterly newsletter, use your networking skills to assist or lead with fund raising activities, take pictures of the foster animals and upload them to the web site, or develop reports. There are many ways to help HAL and not nearly enough skills or resources to get it all done.
  • Time. Inform the Beaufort County animal shelter about stray animals.
  • Time. Inform the Beaufort County animal shelter about animal cruelty including animal neglect and abandonment as well as puppy mills, cock and/or dog fighting.
  • Time. Call your US Senators (Lindsey Graham and Tim Scott) and US representatives(Joe Wilson in Beaufort) and ask them to to introduce animal welfare legislation. For example -- support Puppy Uniform Protection Safety (PUPS) Act.  This important legistation will amend the Animal Welfare Act and require breeders who sell more than 50 puppies per year directly to the public to be federally licensed and inspected and the dogs in these facilities must be allowed to exercise for 60 minutes a day.
  • Time. Spread the word about HAL. Ask friends to donate money/time to HAL in lieu of gifts.
  • Time. Ensure you pets are spayed and neutered and microchipped. Encourage your friend and family tto do the same for their pets.  Great gift -- see Spay/neuter link for low cost options,
  • Buy. Cruelty free products.
  • Wish list. HAL needs lots of items to help our foster animals.
  • Shop online. We also are a charity in the iGive network. If you shop using iGive, they will donate a portion of the purchase price to HAL. There are many many different retail stores on the iGive network.
  • Search online. Use iGive to search the internet. With each click you generate money which goes to HAL.
  • Order the SC automobile license plate "No more Homeless Pets." The money goes to the SC spay/neuter program.
