Greetings,

 Springtime is mating season!

dog_black_brown_puppiesWe need your help.  Make sure your pet is spayed or neutered.  If there are homeless cats and kittens in your area, get them spayed or neutered now.  Pet over population is a serious problem affecting Beaufort County. If you think just one litter won't matter, consider this: One unspayed female cat having just four kittens a year and just two females per litter, can be the cause of over 10,000 kittens being born over the next seven years. cat_dog_noseDog and cat overpopulation is a national tragedy. Millions of dogs and cats are killed in shelters, hit by cars, or die on the streets - simply because of neglect and not enough permanent or temporary homes.
For more information about your options, check out our "Spay/Neuter" page.

We will need foster families to help the little ones.  Please consider opening up your heart and home to help these precious furry souls. If you would like to become a foster family, please complete the Humane Association of the Lowcountry (HAL) Foster Application form - cat  or Foster Application - dog.  Different foster applications because their needs are not the same.

Many thanks for your support,
